Scope and Contents Letter from A.H. Perry, civil engineer and surveyor, Guilford, Kansas, to his mother, October 4, 1870. Perry was doing survey work for a railroad company through Osage Indian lands, Guilford, Wilson County, Kansas. He secures a job as a surveyor through Enoch Hoag, Superintendant of Indian Affairs, is hired later to make a topographical survey for a railroad line, and mentions his hope to secure "a contract soon from the Indian Department to survey Osage lands."
