Scope and Contents

Includes the following essays: "Contextualizing Bravery: Understanding William Slade's Rhetoric in Context of the Abolition Movement from 1835-1848" by Shaye Anis, Class of 2021; "Construction of Oppression Through Advertisements" by Jack Dowling, Class of 2020.5; and "Students with Disabilities at Middlebury College: A Slow Slog Toward the Future 1990-2021" by Mary Moore, Class of 2022.5.

Scope and Contents From the Record Group:

The volume of materials collected for each President varies widely from earliest appointees to current. The holdings for each presdient are primarily correspondence, published essays, sermons, and speeches, and since the 1970s-1980s includes reports generated by the Office of the President. For presidents prior to 1908, additional information may be located in associated record groups, including Board of Trustee records and correspondence, and early subscription/development records.

Film produced by Kyle Wright, Class of 2019, as part of an independent study under Professor Louisa Stein in the Film and Media Culture (FMMC) department. The film aimed to explore intersections of race, disability, and mental health from a student perspective at Middlebury. The film was screened at the 2019 Nocturne arts festival on campus.
