Scope and Contents Includes three holograph letters (one photocopy). One of the letters (photocopy) is written by Amanda Holmes, a former slave, to Martha A. Harrison of Baltimore, the wife of her former master, asking if she could purchase her children in 1857. Holmes' children were still owned by Mrs. Harrison, who apparently would not release them to their mother.
