Scope and Contents

Collection includes typescript draft poems for "The Day We Still Stand Here" (1983) and "Falling Awake" (1986), along with other poetry, proofs, editing notes, and correspondance. Most of the poetry in the collection has manuscript notes made by Margolis. Also includes notes on "Falling Awake" by Robert Pack; works by Robert Pack; works by Edgar O'Hara; and works by Andrea Hollander Budy.

Biographical / Historical

Gary Margolis, born in 1945, graduated with the class of '67. From the years 1972 to 2010, he served as director of the Center for Counseling and Human Resources at Middlebury. Margolis also held administrative seats on the New England College Health Assocaition, the Vermont Physcological Association, Porter Medical Center, along with serving on the U.S. Army Medical Services. He published two books of poems, "The Day We Still Stand Here" and "Falling Awake", in the years 1983 and 1986 respectively.
