Biographical / Historical
The Middlebury oral history interview initiative began with Special Collections curator Bob Buckeye (1971-2003). Buckeye established the College Archives in 1973 and created a record group for historically focused studies and initiatives - written, photographic, audio and audio/visual - entitled Historical Studies of Middlebury College and designated as A13. As of 2017-19, recorded oral histories were officially identified as a separate entity, Middlebury Oral Histories (MOH) and are now designated as collection C-181.
Language of Materials
Collection is physically arranged alphabetically by interviewee's last name, then chronologically by interview date. Middlebury College oral history interviews were originally filed in College Archives record group Historical Studies of Middlebury College (A13) along with other historical genres. File names for the audio files maintain the A13 designation in their name.
