The Abernethy manuscript miscellany collection is comprised of 19 boxes (18 regular and 1 oversize) organized alphabetically by author last name. This collection includes original manuscript and typescript letters and writings from American authors throughout the 19th and 21st centuries. Biographical / Historical

Kay Boyle (1902-1992) was an American novelist and short story writer. Boyle published more than 40 books during her lifetime. Boyle and her husband were victims fo early 1950s McCarthyism, which led to her husband's dismissal from his position in the United States Department of State, as well as the loss of her own position as foreign correspondent for The New Yorker.
