Scope and Contents

From the Record Group:

The records of the Middlebury College Board of Trustees are the official records of Middlebury College. The College Archives preserves institutional documents (charter, college seal, printed by-laws), meeting minutes, and standing and special committee records and reports. Included in the record group are files containing biographical information on individual trustees. Additional and related material can be found in the Office of the President (A2) record sub-group.

As of November 2018, Trustee Meeting Minutes dating from 1988 to present are retained in Old Chapel.

Conditions Governing Access

Records of the Board of Trustees are restricted for 50 years from the date of creation. Records older than 50 years are open for research without restriction.

Arrangement

The trustee pamphlet files are arranged alphabetically by last name. Trustees with a larger amount of files (i.e. occupy a single document box or more) are listed under this sub-group as sub-series. The link in Other Finding Aids has all alumni trustees listed regardless of volume of material.
