Digitized recordings of interviews with members of the Middlebury College community by Literature and Cultures Librarian, Katrina Spencer. Through these interviews, Spencer engages members of the community who trace their origins to the broad Black diaspora(s) of the world.

Biographical / Historical
Inspired by Dr. Nicole Cooke's pedagogies (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Black History Month, Literature and Cultures Librarian Katrina Spencer's In Your Own Words oral histories project features interviews with students, staff, and faculty from the Middlebury community responding to a variety of questions, among them:
Racially and ethnically, how do you identity?
How do notions of race and ethnicity change based on where you are and who you're with?
What do you wish others knew about race and identity?
