Administrative records, 1863-2012
Scope and Contents
Series contains administrative records primarily produced by the Rutland Railroad beginning in 1863. Types of materials include railroad abandonment records, accident records, administrative files, articles of association, blueprints, catalogs, correspondence, board of directors meeting minutes, catalogs, financial records, freight tariff rates, Interstate Commerce Commission railroad valuation records, labor union agreements, legal records, locomotive boiler specification cards, locomotive plans, newspaper clippings and scrapbooks, publications, Rutland Transit Corporation records, rolling stock repairs, reorganization records, stocks and bonds, and records from the strike of 1960.
Note that railroad valuation records contains records produced by the Rutland Railroad's valuation department.
Note that newspaper clippings and scrapbooks contains some materials likely collected by the Rutland Railroad Historical Society.
When possible, records produced by individual railroad lines have been separated out (see "Railroad lines"). However, aministrative records do include records produced by or pertaining to individual lines.
