The People's Gender Council of Middlebury (PGCOM) was a group of Middlebury College students, staff, and faculty who have a strong background in gender studies and/or anti-oppression activism. The group advised the college administration on gendered policy issues and worked to effect broad, systemic change by practicing issue-based, coalitional politics. The Council consisted of approximately ten students, five staff, and five faculty, headed by a student co-chair and a faculty co-chair. PGCOM was founded in 2009 by Lark Mulligan, Class of 2011, and Viveka Ray-Mazumder, Class of 2011.
