Biographical / Historical

The Napier Ball was held in Washington D.C. on February 18, 1859, at the Willard Hotel. The ball was a farewell gala in honor of Francis Napier, Britain's departing ambassador to the United States. The ball was attended by 2,000 dignitaries and their ladies.
