Letters to William Stanley Braithwaite, 1915-1920
Scope and Contents
Six holograph signed letters written by Robert Frost to writer and literary critic William Stanley Braithwaite (1878-1962), dated between 1915 and 1920. The letters mention Frost's first two books and his "theories of art" (March 22, 1915), Frost's poems for Braithwaite's Anthology of magazine verse and Ezra Pound (August 24, 1915), Frost's promise to Braithwaite that he will write a "poem on Shakespeare" (March 21, 1916), granting permission to Braithwaite to publish poems in his anthologies (September 2, 1917 and September 4, 1920).
