Scope and Contents
Contains correspondence, articles, event posters, and other documents that relate to functions associated with the Anderson Freeman Resource Center (AFC). Note that many of these documents predate the AFC, but are relevant to the work undertaken there.
In particular, this collection includes posters for events taking place as early as 1993. Many of these events were sponsored by the Bi-Cultural Center/PALANA, the Office of Institutional Diversity, and various student organizations including the African American Alliance and Middlebury Open Queer Alliance.
Additionally, this collection contains a number of documents related to the Life Stories at Middlebury project, supported by the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity.

Biographical / Historical
Middlebury’s inaugural Lavender Graduation was held on Wednesday, May 11 at 6pm in Wilson Hall for LGBTQIA+ students in the classes of 2022 and 2022.5. Lavender Graduations are celebrated across the nation at other higher education institutions to honor the achievements of graduating LGBTQIA+ students.
