Scope and Contents
Compiled by Elizabeth Burditt Parker, Middlebury College Class of 1930. Daughter of J. Earle Parker, Middlebury College Class of 1901, and Caroline Mason Burditt [Parker], Middlebury College Class of 1903. Elizabeth B. Parker married John T. Andrews, Professor of Philosophy at Middlebury College.
The scrapbook covers Parker's college years, 1926-1930. The scrapbook is particularly well appointed, containing an extensive collection of letters, photographs, and ephemera, including large portraits of women from the Class of 1930, photos of student life (athletics, recreational activities, campus and surrounding area) as well as some negatives, concert and theatre programs and tickets from student performances (Wig and Pen, glee club, class plays) as well as performances at the Colonial, Shubert, and Copley theatres in Boston, MA (including a program for the Marx Brothers in Irving Berlin's "The Cocoanuts"), sports tickets and souvenirs, valentines, dance cards (greek letter organizations and numerous other student groups), memorabilia from the 1929 Pi Beta Phi convention in Pasadena, CA, cigarettes, college handbooks from 1926 and 1927, course registration materials and academic records, and a stick of Whiz Bang chewing gum.

Biographical / Historical
From the Middlebury College General Catalog, 1949: Daughter of John Earle and Caroline Mason (Burditt) Parker. Born in Portalnd, ME, April 30, 1908. Prepared for college in Newton, MA. Entered Middlebury College in 1926. Graduated with a BA in 1930, and earned an MA in 1935. Studied at Harvard Summer School, 1930 and 1931. Attended Middlebury College Summer School 1931-1935. Member of Phi Beta Kappa. High School teacher: Bristol, VT, 1930-1931; Cohasset, MA 1931-1935; and East Hartford, CT, 1935-1936. Married John Thayer Andrews, Middlebury College Professor of Philosophy, September 5, 1936. Children: Charles S., Caroline P., and Catharine.
From the notes of Caroline P. Andrews: Elizabeth Burditt Parker, her mother, was adopted by J. Earle and Caroline M.B. Parker in 1913 at the age of 5.
