Biographical / Historical
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Community Friends at Middlebury, the Center for Community Engagement sponsored an audio stories project that gathered stories from past participants in the program in 10-minute interviews.
The goal of the project was to gather meaningful stories about the impact of Community Friends, and the lasting power of relationships between college students and their elementary-school-aged mentors. The Center for Community Engagement funded three interns for J-Term and Spring semester to be trained in and implement audio story outreach, gathering, and synthesizing. Vermont Folk Life Center (Mary Wesley) supported 3 trainings to prepare the students. The project was managed by Kailee Brickner-McDonald, Assistant Director, Center for Community Engagement.
