Scope and Contents

This scrapbook comprises material from Sanders' four years at Middlebury College, 1938-1942, including admissions materials, academic records, photographs of Middlebury's students and campus, rules and regulations (handbook), a copy of the Student Union constitution, programs from plays, athletic events, musical performances, lectures, Winter Carnival, and other events, membership cards (Middlebury Mountain Club and Middlebury Women's Forum), newspaper clippings, holiday cards, book reports, songs and cheers, and invitations and programs for commencement, baccalaureate, and class day. Also of note are a bruchure for the Sheldon Museum, a certificate of membership at the Middlebury Congregational Church, a Freshman Rules and Traditions Poster, a reading list and current affairs test for a Contemporary Civilization course, a 1940 presidential return tally sheet, Finally, the scrapbook includes a program from a concert of the Harvard Glee Club and Ratliff Choral Society at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, the constitution for a proposed student organization called The Gold Cane, and part of a typed manuscript for an original musical comedy entitled, "The Astronomer and the Astrologer."

Entered Middlebury College 1938. Studied at Temple, 1942, 1943; University of Delaware, 1947. Teacher, Sunny Hills School, Hockessin, DE, 1942-.
