Scope and Contents
Scrapbook compiled by Margaret Shaub, Middlebury College Classs of 1941, documenting her senior year. The scrapbook contains dance programs, performance programs, dance cards, letters, bulletins, newspaper clippings from The Middlebury Campus newspaper, a photograph of the Kappa Delta Rho (KDR) house, commencement items, and congratulation cards.

Biographical / Historical
Margaret Powell Shaub was born to Lewis Webster and Margaret Eastwood (Powell) Shaub in New York, New York on April 22, 1920. After graduating from Middlebury, Shaub was a student at the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston from 1941 to 1942. She worked as a secretary at Johnson Cushing Nevell in New York from 1943 to 1944, at M. I. T. Radiation Lab from 1944 to 1945, at Houghton Mifflin Co. in Boston from 1945 to 1946, at Freedmand & Co. in San Francisico from 1946 to 1947, and at Shell Chemical Co. in San Francisco beginning in 1947. She earned a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Oregon in 1956, and a Doctorate of Modern Letters in 1973.
