Scope and Contents
Memory and fellowship book published by the College Memory Book Company, compiled by Helen Sophia Stilphen, Middlebury College class of 1919 for the years 1915-1919. Contains ephemera from her four years at Middlebury, including a signature book, dance cards, a book of cheers for sporting events, pamphlets from the Women's Athletic Association, semester grades, and many photographs of social occasions, outdoor outings, and campus buildings. Also of note are a few newspaper clippings concerning events during the war, and acquaintances of Stilphen's in the armed services.

Biographical / Historical
Daughter of Fannie M. and Hiram C. Stilphen of Swanton, VT, Helen Sophia Stilphen was born in 1897. She attended Middlebury from 1915-1919, and worked as a teacher at the Southern Seminary between 1919 and 1921. In 1922 she married Homer Hungerford, also of Swanton. She bore three children: Merrill Cornelius (1924), Richard Stilphen (1925) and Mary Fyles (1933) before her death in 1995, at the age of 98.
