Scope and Contents
Memory and fellowship book published by the College Memory Book Company, compiled by Ruth A. Hesselgrave, Middlebury College class of 1918 for the years 1914-1918. Contains ephemera from her four years at Middlebury, including concert and drama programs, Valentine's day cards, photographs, letters, commencement addresses, house rules, event menus, athletics programs, and newspaper clippings. Also includes pamphlets from meetings of the Middlebury Suffrage Study Club and Young Women's Christian Association.

Biographical / Historical
Daughter of Charles E. and Susan Wilder Hesselgrave, born in Sidney, NY in 1897. Attended Middlebury from 1914-1918, after which she began work as a teacher. She taught for 40 years at Seymour and Warren Harding High Schools, of Seymour, CT and Bridgeport, CT respectively, before retiring to Middlebury in 1958. There, she served as a librarian at Middlebury College for thirteen years, and a guidance counselor at Middlebury Union High School for two. She died in Middlebury on January 20th, 1991.
