Biographical / Historical
Walter Eric Brooker (1916-2005) graduated from Middlebury College in 1937. After graduation, he served as a Naval Officer in the Pacific during World War II from 1942 to 1946, and went on to hold positions with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and Curtis Publishing. Brooker returned to Middlebury in 1956 to serve as Executive Assistant to the President of the College. Brooker was promoted to the office of Vice President and Director of Development, positions which he held until 1981. Brooker received an Honorary Degree in Education from Middlebury College . He married Barbara Ann Carrick in 1938 and the couple had two children: Eric Edward and David Krickel.
