Four holograph letters written by George William Curtis to various recipients including Daniel Ricketson and [Benjamin?] Harrison. The letters are dated from 1858 to 1869.
One letter, addressed "Dear Madame" and dated New York, Septebmer 10, 1858, discusses the possibility of Curtis delivering a lecture about women's rights. Of women's rights, Curtis writes, "I should rather, therefore, avoid as much as possible all advertisement of my lecture as a 'women's rights'...
