Abstract
A collection of letters and other memorabilia from an antebellum family. Edward Stevens, a merchant sailor, wrote many letters home to his wife and children. Often love letters or news of life aboard ship and at various ports throughout the world. Also included are letters from other relatives relating family news and loving support to Edward's wife during her time at home. The letters detail a loving family doing their best to stay in touch in a time of limited communication....
