This collection includes original manuscript and typescript letters and writings from American authors throughout the 19th and 21st centuries. Transcriptions of original manuscript letters are available for some items.
One letter written by W.C. Brownell to "Mr. Babbott," dated December 17, 1912. The letter is written under Charles Scribner's sons letterhead and mentions a question asked by "Mr. Abernethy" (Julian Abernethy?). The original copy of the letter is pasted into Brownell's American Prose Masters.
