Four letters written by Van Wyck Brooks to Viola Chittenden White, from 1940-1944. The letters primarily discuss White's invitation to Brooks to speak at Middlebury College. Also includes one holograph letter written by Brooks to Middlebury College president Samuel Somerville Stratton, in which he declines an invitation by Stratton to speak.
