Scope and Contents One handwritten letter from Ben S. Edwards, a Mississippi Frontier School Teacher, to his brother Lewis Edwards in Williamsville, NC, dated August 25, 1845. In the letter, Edwards writes of his ambitious plans of owning his own farm while forging a new life in a frontier village in Mississippi.
