Biographical / Historical

Helen Louisa Phelps Stokes, daughter of Isaac Newton Phelps and Sarah Phelps, was born in 1847 and died on June 30, 1930. She married Anson Phelps Stokes on October 17, 1865. The couple had eight children: Isaac Newton, Sarah Maria, Helen Olivia, J. Graham, Anson the younger, Ethel V., Caroline M., Mildred, and Harold M.
