The letterhead reads "Bermuda Oceanographic Expedition / Thirteenth Expedition of the Department of Tropical Research / New York Zoological Society." The letter reads, "Thank you for your letter. I have no idea of where my old Mss are or whether I have torn them up, and it seems almost comic that anyone should want them. Scope and Contents One holograph letter written by William Beebe, to "Mr. Browne," dated April 20, 1919. The letter is written on British Guiana Tropical Research Station of the New York Zoological Society letterhead stationery, and reads, "Thanks for the two books. I send the reviews herewith. As I wrote them I was listening to a chorus of red howling monkeys coming across teh still water, & am about to go to a dinner of monkey stew.--Rather different from a late afternoon on Fifth Ave of an Easter Sunday!"
